Every week I send out an update to the medical school, which gets send out as part of WGW (What's Good Wednesday), an email where the associate deans of students compiles the professional and academic accomplishments and life events of the student body in an effort to help keep us connected even though we are spread out across lecture halls, campuses, and hospitals across the state. Usually populated by sporadic submissions of significance, after talking with friends before I left, I decided to twist the format to suit my needs to stay connected to my class. After the fifth week of consistent submission, my update was given it's own special place and title: Kassel's Corner.
It's been a busy week for Kassel Galaty (Med20 v.21) across the pond! As previously mentioned she went to the National Archives in London and spent hours upon hours pouring over old letters and documents. The stack of documents she tried to work through, as well as an example of the scribbles she worked to decipher are included for you all to puzzle through if you'd like. She's looking forward to going to London and actually seeing London at some point in the near future. She visited Anglesey Abbey, a National Trust site just a half hour bike ride away from Cambridge, where she finally got her autumnal leaf fix. She went on the HPS (History and Philosophy of Science) Department's Annual Fungus Hunt in the King's Forest. One of the faculty showed off his photographic memory and prodigious fungi knowledge by identifying every mushroom the attendees could find. Yours truly had the distinction of finding an "extremely poisonous" mushroom. Brexit continues to baffle literally everyone she asks. Cheers! (And if you want to hear EVEN MORE about what she is doing and see more pictures, she's started a blog at wherekasselrhymeswithcastle.blogspot.com)
